This is very common, the center hole of the rim is whats holding the wheels on due to corrsion, you will need to hit inside of tire with a good size hammer and spinning it so you hit diffrent spots of the tire. the tire will break free.
Note try not to hit the rim as it will dent, wont harm it but try to avoid it.

You will note the build up on the inside center hole of the rim and also on the center hub. use a steel brusk and some fine sand paper to clean.
After you clean apply some lube grease around hub, this will make the wheel go on and come off alot better. hope this helps.

SOURCE: Remove the steering wheel or airbag from a 2004 Volvo XC90?

You need a steering wheel puller. You may be able to rent this from your parts house. Disconnect the battery for no less than 1/2 hour before disconnecting the air bag or the air bag could deploy. Place air bag facing up or it could become a projectile if set off.

SOURCE: volvo xc90 2004 buzzing in steering wheel, clunck noise under car

that sounds like you are low on power steering fluid ... when the level gets low then the pump starts to ingest air and that produces a buzzing sound when you turn the wheel .....i would add or change the fluid and check for leaks and mechanical loosness in the under car linkages ...you can have that checked at your next oil change .

I'm not sure about your model, but some Volvos come with a little screwdriver hole adjacent to the headlight switch that you can turn to shut the DRL off. I believe the slot needs to be horizontal to be in the off position.

Good luck!!

Probably corroded onto the hub...
I use a LARGE hammer and a block of wood, beat on it from the inside of the wheel...the wood is so you don't destroy the wheel.

Good Afternoon. I am changing a tire on a 2006 Durango. I have loosened the lug nuts, jacked it up and then took off the lug nuts completely. The tire is still firmly in place and will not come off. Am I...

The tire may need a good kick to loosen the rusted/corroded bond to the axle, usually in the center section. Light sanding and a film of grease to the area after the wheel is off will help future removal.

the rotor is a slide on, some times the rust holds them on tight. in this case what i would do is hit the top hat of the rotor with a good size hammer all the way around it, then tap the back side of the rotor to gett it off. good luck

2006 z71 ext.cab 5.3ltr. has a loose marble sound coming from passenger side front wheel.

It may just be a stone that got inside the wheel and hasnt gotten tossed out. It could also be a loose lug nut. A good visual inspection should be able to find the problem. One thing to note, the black plastic caps that hold your hub cap on are not your lug nuts! They screw onto your lug nuts, so to see the lug nuts you'll need to unscrew these caps.

Wheel nuts on back wheel of 06 ford focus stripped.

Hi Ray,

I put in some time at an auto salvage yard. Aluminum wheels were big sellers and not something we wanted to damage.

When the lug nuts needed some persuading, we got out the high impact 12 pt deep sockets.

First try we used the correct size.

If they were stripped, one size smaller. We hammer them on to the lug and use a breaker bar with a pipe extension.

The only real problems we had were getting the lug nuts out of the sockets.

Good luck and best regards,
Mike

What are the proper lug nuts to use on my 97 rodeo with 16" wheel

the lugs should have a flat washer and a spring washer the lug should have a long cylinder shape on one end that is tapered to tighten up the wheel the washers hold the plastic hubs in place you might try a wrecking yard or a dealer for them
