Dvd magazine stuck. is there a manual eject button
Will neither eject or play. DVD error or no magazine detected.
Has CDs in magazine. Looked at blogs and most say must replace with refurbished. I've owned 3 Lexus and all gave me audio problems.
Any suggestions appreciated

Anyone know how to take out the dvd 6 disk unit (not necessarily the unit on the dashboard) that's between the seats? My unit is still stuck. Didn't realize I asked the same question in 2010. The unit is connected by small set of gears that push tray /disc out. As tray comes out it either pushes disc out of slot or pops open door (depending on which style of face you have). If you have kids I would not be surprised if something is caught in between disc and face or jamming edge of door. (know this from own experience). The face of player can usually be carefully popped off by gently prying at corners. If you get face off you may be able to see if something is stuck in unit that does not belong, or see if a piece is broken loose near face. If unit has door that opens you can try using a slim but stiff piece of plastic and keep tension on door with plastic while hitting eject button. On some units there is a small hole on face that is manual release that ejects disc - even if no power. Usually takes a long straight push in hole (straightened paper clip or dental pick) and it manually pushes gear set to go out. So many of these units are different but most do have a manual release. Check owners manual to see if it shows a picture of face and possible release hole. Have had kids fight over changing a disc and pushed in on it while it was ejecting so it stripped gears, and had kid hang on ceiling mount unit that tore screen totally off. I feel your pain....
IF YOU HANDY IT IS AN EASY FIX, I DID FIX MY. LOOKS LIKE YOU OR SOME FORCED A DISK IN TO THE CD HOLDERS.
1- I DID TAKE OUT THE CD CHANGER FROM THE CAR,
2-OPEN THE TOP CASING OF THE CD CHANGER,NOW YOU CAN SEE THE CDS AND THE HOLDERS WHICH SAPARATES THE CDS,IT IS VERY LIGHT TIN OR ALLUMINIUM PLATES, USSUALLY ONE OF THEM IS BENT THAT IS THE PROBLEM STRAITEN AND PUT IT BACK. FIX YA AND SAVE 500 BUCKS.
The only suggestion I have (and it's admittedly just a guess) is to first eject all CD's in the unit if you can, then disconnect either of the battery cables and let it set that way for five or so minutes. Hook the cable back up and maybe it will be OK. I had a similar thing happen to my 2012 Subaru Legacy's cruise control while on vacation in VA Beach. Just stopped working. Fuse was fine. no reason for it to happen. Took it to a dealer and they did some kind of computer update. Fixed. Didn't charge me.
If what I suggest doesn't work, you may have to do the same. Good luck!
On some DVD player there is a little pinhole next to the opening or tray in case the disk or tray won't eject. You can unbend a paper clip and insert it into hole and see if it will eject. If not you will need to remove radio and have it serviced.
Your vehicle is not that old, take it to the dealer and see if your radio is still covered under warranty.
I have the same exact problem:2001 Landcruiser will not play dvd/cd. It gets stuck. Display of dvd error shows. DVD can not eject. Please let me know if you got it to eject. I tried disconnect/connect the battery for full 5 minutes but did not help.
To eject the dvd from the dvd player you have to push the eject button on the dvd player, if the dvd is stuck inside the dvd player you have to get it checked by a service technician
Thanks
for using FixYa. Locate your DVD player’s manual Eject button. It is
usually a small hole located underneath the DVD drawer. Use a
stiff wire, a paper clip or safety pin—into the hole. Push gently and the
drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open and remove the CD.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.
I had this say problem with my 2000 solara. Here is the fix, remove one of the car battery terminals for a couple of mins (3-4mins). The reattach the battery terminal back. This would make your cd player and car clock reset. once you start your car you should be able to eject the cds. You'll just need to reprogram all your preset radio station. Hope it helps
