I've got a Mercedes Benz ML 320 2007 model. It has got the Harman/Kardon sound system installed but there is a problem. Every time I start the car the radio turns on but after a minute or two it shuts down completely and nothing works, not the phone, the radio, the CD's or the AUX. I have gone to my local dealership and got some sort of update but that didn't do the trick. Can anybody help me please.

Crank shaft position sensor is bad. This is the most common failure. Its location is on the rear drivers side of engine, where the transmission bell housing mates to the engine, only one small bolt and a two prong electrical connector hold it on. Usually will not throw a trouble code. If you remove it you can test it with an ohm meter, will have an erratic reading or read open loop, can malfunction intermittently or permanently after parking vehicle and won't restart. Applying some heat source to it during ohm testing with a hot air heat gun will usually cause the sensor to read open loop if your not sure if its bad or not. This reply is probably way to late, but I just happened to come accross it while online. Harry (master certified MBZ diagnostic tech)

Go to advance auto or auto zone and have the do a trouble code read ( it is free).
The plug is located under the drivers side dash to the left of the brake pedal.
Press the esp off button on the dash and see if ithas an effect. on acceleration
Next I would try this it is expensive.
If it feels like it is bogged down when you first start to acceleratewill only creep about 10 to 20mph it may be the mass flow sensor located between the air filter and the throttle body. It has an electrical connection. Sand eats them up and it is a common item about $200.
