SOURCE: Trying to find the location

  • Have you looked at the back up switch?

  • Look under the hood by the battery (see diagram I am uploading)

ironfist109_237.jpg

  • To remove the old switch ---
  1. You may need to remove your air filter box to fully access the back up switch.
  2. Now remove the 12mm bolt that holds the switch harness in place.
  3. Now press in on the connector and remove the connector.
  4. Now just take a 1 1/16" deep socket and ratchet and turn (to the left) on that reverse switch and remove it out.
  • To install the new one ---
  1. First make sure that you don't forget to put the spacer on the new switch.
  2. Now install the new switch. Just snug it in real good. No need for a torque. Just a good snugging will be just fine.
  3. You can get this switch for $30-$40.
  4. I have located a place that has a few for you to choose from here http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search/?searchType=global&N=0&Ntt=back+up+switch&submit= all you see there are the same it would just be preference and warranty. You can get one at the dealership to which may cost a new dollars more but I always recommend OEM parts in this case.

Wipers are not working. Fuses are intact. Any Suggestions? Looked under fuse box and can't really see anything labeled wipers.2008 Holden Viva

Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? A wiring diagram for your vehicles windshield wipers electrical circuit would show all components involved . You would need a wiring diagram for testing ,so you know which wires too test . It would show the fuse location - amperage etc.... Which of these is your vehicle - Notchback or hatchback or station wagon .

Windshield Wiper System
The windshield wiper system consists of a wiper motor, a linkage, a wiper arm and a blade, and a wiper/washer switch. The windshield wiper circuit incorporates a self parking device which consists of a worm gear and a cam plate in order to keep the circuit engaged temporarily when the switch is turned off. The wiper system is driven by a permanent magnet-type motor. The windshield wiper motor is mounted on the dash panel and is directly connected to the windshield wiper linkage.
The windshield wiper motor has 2 speeds, LO and HI, and also has intermittent wiper capability. The wiper switch is an integral part of the wiper/washer switch. Windshield wiper operation is actuated through the lever on the right side of the steering column.

There are two engine compartment fuse blocks, one located on the right side by the coolant reservoir and another is located on the left side next to the windshield washer fluid reservoir. Both fuse blocks contains fuses and relays.
