The clutch starter cutout switch you speak of is located above the clutch pedal, pull the panel off under the dash to access it. Here is a picture of the clutch switch.

Shorted clutch switch , maybe . Or computer problem . The clutch switch is an input to the BCM or the PCM , This is so the computer knows the switch is pushed an it's cool to start the vehicle . Do you know what a clutch switch is ? Your vehicle is still under warrantee take it back to the dealer .
the clutch switch is on the pedal assembly above the clutch pedal disconnect the two wires and joint them with a fuse 20A o 30A with ebrake on and trans i neutral start the car no need to press clutch pedal this time, if start replace the switch, if not check the starter cable or the starter itself, the ignition switch.
It's called the clutch start switch. Yes, it could be bad or needs adjustment.
Push the clutch in and the switch closes contact, so power flows from the ignition switch start position to the clutch switch and on to the starter motor-well, actually to the starter solenoid on the starter motor. If you have a voltmeter or test light, you can test the clutch switch . A red and white wire to it and a red wire from the switch to the starter solenoid. When this wire gets to the solenoid, it is a black wire with red stripe. It should have voltage when key is held in start position and the clutch pedal is depressed.
sounds like clutch switch, Check under dash follow clutch pedal up and see if there is a switch under dash, should be Purple wires going to it Heavy gauge wires, need to unplug it and put a jumper in from one side to other and cover with tape so it doesen't touch and ground out and blow a fuse, then see if it will start and if it took care of your problem, if so replace switch
un hook or( unplug i should say) the clutch switch and jump the wires , now mind you clutch will not have to be depressed now so make sure vehicle is not in gear. If it starts then your clutch switch was bad
try this, find switch in back of clutch arm. remove switch and hook wires together from switch. but do not try to start with clutch not pressed down. on most cars its a safety precaution. to prevent from starting if clutch is not pushed. have a good day !!
This one's almost too easy. All that is needed is to loop a small tie wrap around the clutch switch and switch lever assembly. After cinching it down the switch lever is permanently depressed (thereby eliminating the annoying clicking sound). If it ever becomes necessary to restore the switch to normal operation just cut the tie wrap. Couldn't be simpler. Depending on how long it takes you to find a tie wrap the entire process should take 2 minutes or less.
NOTE: It is now possible to start the car without the clutch being depressed. If you do this hack make sure the car is not in gear when the car is started unless the clutch is depressed.
Yes, there is a clutch switch which must be activated (closes switch) for the starter to engage. This is a safety item so the truck won't start in gear. With time it may begin to fail, this should be any easy fix. And yes from time to time you may not be pushing the clutch in far enough to actuate this switch.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom
There is a safety switch off of the clutch pedal so you don't start it with it in gear, and the clutch out. This is adjustable, and sounds like is your problem. Look under your dash for a small switch that is acuated by the pedal.
