This is a Kingranch, and I now have a whisling in the cab when I accelerate, also notice when pulling a hard hill when I take my foot off the accelerator I get a pop, pop,pop heard in the cab but definately sounds like air leak. Its been whistling for some time now and this popping of air is just a brand new thing. I worry about pulling my 38 foot fifth wheel this summer. I must say that last summer pulling hills with the trailer behind I blew the air to air lines off a few times. Bought all new and was tested for leaks and the Ford Dealership in Penticton could not find any leaks along with no loss of power pulling hills ect.

I have the same car,,i think your automatic transmission is slipping,(check fluid),or if its a manual transmission, then your clutch is worn out.(replace)

From your symtoms I would suspect a clogged fuel filter. It may seem to run okay without a load, but it requires a larger supply of fuel under load. Anything that restricts the flow of fuel will cause what you described.

Did you get out and lock the hubs? Because that needs to be done but don't leave them locked because you will kill them and your fuel economy.

It very well could be a vac leak or a problem with the air filter box.
If you can make the sound happen sitting in park, have someone listen around the engine compartment with a section of heater hose while you operate the controls.
