Could have trashed the throttle body or gas pedal sensor. It is drive by wire. Have the codes read. A TPS code is the throttle, An APP code is the gas pedal. Neither are cheap.
Error Code: P2118 Description:
Throttle Actuator Control Motor Current Range / Performance Trouble area:
- Open in ETCS power source circuit
- Battery
- Battery terminals
- ETCS fuse (located in the engine room relay block)
You may have a worn gasket on your exhuast manifold, allowing air through which can creat this type of sound at low rpm's on the low end of a gear change or when accelerating and forcing more air to the exhaust. You should be able to check this by putting your hand near the exhaust manifold and feeling for blowing air. It may be more apparent when the engine is cold, you might even be able to hear the air if you move your head close to it.
I don't have a Sienna but I do have a 2008 Toyota Camry SE. After it being in the garage for many months, 8 months I think, I had to give the battery a jump to finally start it up. Well The jumper cables I used weren't that great. They flickered and seemed to smoke a little. So i removed them and put a better set on to get a charge. I didn't think anything of it. After that charge came through and i was able to accelerate at all... The throttle was to the floor and the car would not even go up .5 RPMs... After several days and talking to the dealer, I was about to call a Tow to have it taken to the dealer. Luckily my friend came by with one of those diagnostic readers and it spit out the P2118 error code. Immediately we looked it up and found this site. Thanks to Fixya.com I was able to determine that it was a freakin measly fuse that blew due to bad jumper cables... Thank god for the Fuse and thank you to Fixya.com that I was able to determine this so quickly!!!
p2118 means low juice battery, recharge the battery or install a new one. however your battery still good (some what) then start the car and let it idle to charge the bat.
normally when you have p2118 you won't be able to accelerate - why Throttle Actuator Control Motor Current Range is too low.
no acceleration, no idling, no power, car moves with almost having no power
