Cig. lighter-dome light

Hey. So my cigg. lighter, and my dome light both don't work, and I can't locate a blown fuse, let alone the cig. lighter fuse. Any thoughts?

i have an 89 s10 blazer 4.3 automatic. the fuse box is right where chales said. i believe the fuse is labled accesories or something. if you have the owners manual, look in the very back right before the index and you will see a very detailed diagram and chart labling the fuses and what is hooked up to them. quick question though. do you know where all the relays are located. im having horrible eletrical problems (i.e. when i turn my headlights on it makes the voltage run low and effects guages. even the dimmer will mess with it. cant even have the stero on) i have no idea what it is..

Plugged a phone charger in to the cig lighter and it blew my radio, horn, door locks and dome light. Will replacing the fuses work?

Yup, changing the fuses (or a fuse, for that matter) might work. That sounds like the effect a blown fuse would have. I'd also replace the phone charger, on general principle.

I plugged a cell phone charger into my cigarette lighter in my 1991 chevy silverado and now my cigarette lighter, stereo, cargo light, and dome light will not work can you help me figure this out?

You blew the CIG,RADIO or ACC fuse in the fuse panel, remove and replace with same rated fuse. There is a grounding issue inside the lighter housing from this

Radio won't turn on. Fuse blocks don't identify a radio fuse?

w/out amplifier; dome, and Cig. hint if you cigarette lighter is working and your dome light is working ,the problem is not fuse is the radio.

With amplifier. Amp, Cig, and Dome; again if cigarette lighter and dome light and amp fuse is good then amplifier is bad, or Radio is bad the only hint in this one is that the amplifier control sound if radio has ilumination then the amplifier could be the cause.

All this fuses are located by the lower left side of the steering column.

The dome light will not come on when I open the doors.

Try the flat button above the round knob that controls the instrument panel. It sort of looks like a switch plate but its actually a switch.

Looking for the cigarette lighter fuse

Check all fused related to audio, dome light or instrument cluster. Try plugging a cellphone charger into the socket for cig lighter, if this works then you need a new cig lighter.

The cig lighter is probably part of the circuit tied to radio instrument cluster or dome lights, if any of those are out too, then it is likely a bad fuse or bad ground. Look for corresponding fuse and kill 2 birds with one stone hopefully by replacing the faulty fuse.

If you locate and replace a faulty fuse and the problem persists, you may have a bad ground. This is a bit more involved. I would guess by your question that you will need to have someone service it for you.

It is a 15 amp dome fuse. Located in the cabin. It controls clock, radio, door/headlight chimes, dome lights, power locks, security remote
