Front drive axle has two U joints, and in between the U joints
is a kind of coupler joint that looks like it had bearings in it, I
had another vehicle with 4 wheel drive and it had something
like this and it was called a constant velocity joint, would this
be along the same lines and where would I find info on
repairing it. thank you very much for any help

If yours has a cv joint at the front end and a double u joint at the back end the manual states the entire shaft has to be replaced. The other solution is to have a drive line service company make one for it with a u jooint and slip yoke at the front end and replace the yhe axle housing.
I believe your talking about the slip joint dealer should have parts
