I own an Audi A3,earlier today my little brother stole my keys went out with my car and he later called me telling me that the car has locked all gears. Right now i have towed the car and its true the gears seems to have locked and the clutch pedal wont function. Im worried because i can only take the car to a dealer on monday,my question is what could be the problem or the possible worse scenario?

I'm not sure. You should try turning the ignition on and see if it will release a lock on the clutch or something.
Maybe, if the car is in neutral, you should try starting it. the gears may become locked as a safety feature like the steering lock. id definitely try turning the ignition on first though.

    I did turn the ignition on bt still,it doesnt show any change. Is it possible that he could changed from gear 2 to reverse while the car was moving?

    I pretty sure that most Manual cars have a device that prevents your from shifting into reverse when the car is above 10KM/H or so, so you can damage the gear box, im not sure on this so that may be the case

    Is the car in neutral, Will it start?

you can get a switched ground useing a live wire to switch a rely to provide switched ground.live power to pin 85 ground to pis 86 and 30,the pin 87 will be negative whe the key is on.

if hinges are in good order, then ,with the door ajar "adjust" by grabbing hold of the bottom of the door edge and lifting upwards a little at a time to get correct fit,a common problem with heavy doors nowadays....

You can remove the back seat and access the trunk from car inside. The rear seat is split 60/40 and folds down for carrying even more stuff. Push the backrest upper lateral button and fold down the rear seat backrest. Then go into the trunk and take out your set of keys.

They normally last long, they need to check that the rotor cup that the speed sender gets its signal from is not damaged and has the correct spacing. Also check for oil contamination from leaking cam seals.

what ever you do don't go to a audi shop as it will cost you a £1000.00 with out vat and £32.50 for every half hour of there time. try to resync. switch engine on with spare key and remove the remote fob from the key, shut the door and lock the door with the key within 5 seconds press unlock on the first remote to be coded untill the indicators flash once, wait 5 seconds and press unlock again to confirm this memory position. Remove ignition key and test remote if o.k repeat for other remotes adding extra positions by sitting indicators flash. position 2 will be two flashes. if no flashes then get the fault memory read. This may take a few attempts and lots of sweaing. Regards Samantha

You have the key in the car? if so use a coat hanger to open the door, if not or you can't get the door open call AAA if you have it if not call a lock smith to get it unloked with a slim jim.

You can call a lock smith and they can come out and fix it, if you have towing service then call tow company so they can take the car to a lock smith to save the charge of the lock smith, they now have the ability to make keys for the ping style locks that came out in 2000 or earlier and having the key that mates to the lock will make it cheaper but the will have to program the new key with your computer.

Your A3 should sound a warning beep if you leave your lights on. For this to happen the light switch would be in the side, or dipped position, the key out of the ignition and the drivers door open. If it does not sound the car may not be getting either the door or key signal. To check the key out signal, key the ignition to the on position, turn on the radio (probably only work if a standard radio is still fitted) then key off and remove key, if the radio goes off, its a good sign thats ok. For the door signal make sure opening the drivers door brings on the interior light on, this shows it recognises when its open. Let me know if anymore advise is needed.
As for the mic wiring, as far as I'm aware there were no standard/optional phone kits for this age A3.

Key will not turn to start vehicle.
Try pushing in the key while turning the wheel either way. And jiggling it. This happens because the steering locks for the car's protection. If we park it with the wheels turned, it locks in that position. If that does not work, you may have to call a good mechanic to help you.
