your air con system will have a fresh / resirc system apart from on defrost, which is only external air.
the blower motor up under the dashboard on most cars, will have a flap which is either cable or switch operated. I assume this flap is either jammed, broken, or the device which operates it is same,
take the glovebox out and you should see the flap.
note...its all plastic so dont force anything!

check for fuel flow-water pump-,fuses,crank or cam sensors,throttle dirty,use a scanner to locate any failure and especially do the adaptations. clogged fuel filter,clogged air filter,spark plugs or catalytic converter.

Make sure you actually hold the button down for a while. i though something was wrong with mine too because off that

Dust and pollen filter location

Removal:
- Remove footwell trim -1- on front passenger side.
- Remove partition -2- from heating unit.
- Release cover -3- in direction of -arrow-.
- Remove dust and pollen filter downward out of heating unit.




Install in reverse order of removal.

I had similiar problem, took it into a shop and it was the cabin air filter was all dirty! id look into that! sounds exaclty like what mine had!

even if they dont they should clean up there mess i would change dealers they dont seem to care about the small stuff if thats true what do you think there missing else where
