There are actually FIVE cigarette lighter/ Auxilliary Power Outlets shown in the wiring diagrams for your vehicle.
The Instrument Panel [1] Accessory Power Outlet (Cigarette Lighter) is protected by the "LTR" Fuse (# 53 - 20 Amp) in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in the engine compartment.

The Instrument Panel [2] Accessory Power Outlet is protected by the "AUX PWR" Fuse (20 Amp) In the Instrument Panel Fuse Block on the left side of the dash.

The Center Seat Accessory Power Outlet and the (two) Center Console Power Outlets are protected by the "AUX PWR 2" Fuse (20 Amp) In the Instrument Panel Fuse Block on the left side of the dash. NOTE: If your vehicle is not equipped with the Center Seat Accessory Power Outlet, or the Custom Floor Console (optional), this fuse position will most likely be empty.

If your fuses are determined to be good, remove your cigarette lighter carefully to see if it has wires disconnected. If wires are found to be disconnected, reconnect and try lighter again. If they are connected you might have a burned out lighter. They are cheap to replace. Take the old one with you into the store to match up.

SOURCE: The cigarette lighter (3) plugs

It is usually a 20a. Start looking for white fuses. Look for one with a blown element.

Sounds Like You Have An Exposed Hot Wire Somewhere. I Would Try And Change Cig Lighter Wiring Harness. Be Sure And Check Your Aux Outlets So That There Are No Exposed Wires. They All Run On The Same Fuse Hope This Helps!!

My ciggarette lighter worked once now it dosent. When I pushed it i heard a click like a fuse blowing. Do you know how i might fix this? I have a 97 ford escort lx.

If you don't have the owners manual with Fuse Box Diagram and that is not marked, The Lighter would say AUX or Misc or Lighter, the easiest way to find the blown fuse is to check them all one at a time. Since you heard the fuse blow it is the interior fuse not the one under the hood. It may have just been a bad fuse but if you replace the blown fuse and it blows right away then start checking for a grounded wire or if you added and AMP or something and tapped that line look at moving that splice to another line. A common item to splice into this is the Alarm or AMP but there are other items that might have been spliced in like a radio if that is not the factory AM/FM Cassette.

I have a 95 mustang and the wipers stopped working last week. I'm thinking it could possibly be a fuse, but don't know. I can't figure out how to get the fuse cover off and when I do, is...

It is a fuse. It's a 20 amp, and it powers the lighter socket too. If you don't use it, check for a coin in the lighter socket before you replace the fuse.

Cigarette lighter DOESNT WORK

If it is the cig. lighter that is fuse 17(25 amp) in the interior fuse panel.
If it is the aux. power point in the console then that is fuse 22(20amp)
