How to replace radio with after market with easy and minimal cost

Hi, I have Rx330 2004 with factory radio 6CD and sounds poor want to replace it with after market radio MP3 players. Please suggest what is the best way to do it with easy and minimal cost. Also if there are any challenges which may stop me to do so... such as indash design or amp fitting etc.

Thanks for yout help in advance.

    Hi Butoxige,

Thanks for your valuable inputs, I can certainly go to bestbuy and get it installed. However I'm still not sure if I can install normal CD, DVD, MP3 and receivers (ex: Sony CDX-GT820IP), I know that Rx330 dash does not provide enough space to fit these but with some adjstments can this be done.

    Please suggest.

Once again thanks for your help.

    Hi Butoxige,
Thanks for your help... and sorry for my delayed reply to you I was away for a while.
This is an excellent information what I was looking for.
I do have couple of more questions, if you could provide more details this will help me further.
    1. When we fix BeatSonic radio - will it be able to connect with steering wheel controls - volume etc
    2. Afetrmarket radios will have inbuild amp which will bypass factory amp is suppose but would it improve the sound without changing the factory speakers or you may suggest for new speakers as well

Once again thanks for your help.

I wouldnt recommend doing it yourself because from what I can see the stereo isn't a separate contained unit but rather built into the dash so it would be challenging and look weird. If you dont mind paying, best buy will install for just over $100. If not, www.crutchfield.com has a way to match what radios will fit your car and they will usually include instructions on how to install the radio as well as the special tools to remove it.

your right, i looked at some pictures. there is some stuff that can be done, but you have to change that whole face plate and put in new mounting brackets.

    http://shop.beatsonicusa.com/category.sc...

this link has some of the parts and pictures about aftermarket stereo kits for your lexus. have a look at it, it should be what you are looking for. again, the in dash design will make it harder to do than say a toyota with a contained unit, but that shouldnt stop you. you'll just have to get a whole new face plate.

2005 hyundai tucson battery drains. We're almost positive it's the radio. What radio can we get to replace it and fix the problem

Unless the radio is defective, or, in the case of an aftermarket radio, wired incorrectly, there is no reason for a radio to cause a major battery drain. Yes, they do have a constant source to maintain memory, but that current is minimal. Any radio, operating properly and installed correctly (meaning that the main power is on a switched circuit that goes off with the ignition switch) should be fine.

My 2008 hrr lt speakers work intermittently

There are several possible reasons that this could be happening:
a.) poor or loose connection at the speakers
b.) poor or loose connection at the radio or amplifier (depends on what kind of set-up you have...stock vs. after-market boom-boom)
c.) oxidation at the connecters
d.) an open or short in the wiring circuitry due to chafing or whatever...
e.) open voice coil
f.) amplifier or radio gone bad
g.) poor installation / factory defect

Can I bypass a factory Bose amp in a 2005 Silverado ext cab without installing another amp and the radio still work?

Bose Amps Are Very Propriatory ie: wire very Different, with special ends--They Can Be Replaced--However Will Cost More Than Worth--You Can Get OEM Amp From Salvage Yard--Which Is Much More Cost Effective. If Bose Speakers Are Present. Sound Quality Will Be Very Poor Or Nil If You Bypass Amp.

How do i fix the problem i have power but no sound sterio comes on but there is no sound

depends if there is a internal amplifier int this vehicle some model cars have just a radio some have a radio with built in amp usually in the dash or located in the trunk check your model to see.could be something as easy as a bad fuse or a bad wire to the amp if no amp then your radio is junk you could either replace it with another factory radio or install an aftermarket radio that will not only be cheaper but also perform better as most factory radios are poorly made .hope this helps good luck

Land rover discovery series 2 How do i plug in to the wirinng harnes from a after market stereo to the factory harnest from land rover i cant get sound from the speakers

it is a possibility that it can't be done that way, after market radios usually have to be wired into the wiring harness they don't just plug in for the simple reason vehicle manufacturers want you to use their radios & equipment NOT after market radios etc , you may have to get a auto radio installer to fit it for you otherwise if you don't know what you are doing it could be more costly in the long run......hope this helps......cheers.

BMW radio on/off button broken

There are radio restoration companies that will do the same thing for you from $100-$300 but you will need to remove and send the radio to them unless you can find one near where you live. Aftermarket replacement will be easier and less costly. Sound Authority is a good place for an aftermarket replacement if you do not have them close by. Check out the store you plan to use, some stores will not do installations for BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc.

Replacing factory radio

With that year vehicle it is recommended that you use a special harness because it has an factory amp and in order to get the proper wiring it requires the harness also if you don't use the harness you will loose your onstar and vehicle chimes and warning sounds.
