Ran fine, pulled out of a parking spot, switched from reverse to drive, accelerated slowly and car went dead, but all electrical worked. Troubleshot it, thinking I'd flooded it; key would turn, starter would do it's thing, fuel injector made its sound, just no start-up, like there was no gas. 1/2 hr. later, turned over fine and drove about 3 -4 miles before dying accelerating after a stop w/ the same scenario. Van's turned over twice since, no problem, but am afraid to drive it until I know what's going on.

You have a shorted engine harness, this is not common but it does happen, heat and engine movement cause damage to the harness, this is most common on hi miler cars and vans, the only way to fix it is to start by looking anywhere the harness rubs, that is where the damage occurs.

Try the autozone.com website. Go there and register. It doesn't cost anything and will give you access to an online repair manual for your van. The procedures for changing the starter can be found there. Hope this helps and best wishes.
