I have a 98 durango 5.9 4x4 ive issues with the abs and brake light popping up off and on it is now happening more frequently especially when its raining, recently i replaced my abs module, calipers, pads, brake hoses and rotors the light discontinued popping up for about a week or so but its at it again and doesnt want to go away. before i replaced rotors brakes etc. i had an issue with my front passenger wheel rolling a little bit of white smoke out it heated up the rotors and everything else pretty good i think it may have caused the abs wheel speed sensor to start malifunctioning, i would appreciate any opinions or in put if possible
SOURCE: location of speed sensor for a 2003 dodge durango
the speed sensor for this vehicle is actually in the rear differential of the vehicle. this is the sensor that runs the speedometer also known as the vehicle speed sensor. there are also two speed sensors in the front one on each wheel known as wheel speed sensors these are for the abs system only
SOURCE: Dodge Durango 1998 5.2L Output Speed Sensor code P0720 Location
Its in different locations depending on if its 2wd or 4wd. For 2wd its in front of the drice shaft or for 4wd its in the tranfer case, just look for a white shape like box with wires plugged into it and you need a socket to remove it, iam not sure how much it is to replace as the cost varies at different shops.
SOURCE: need to know where is Low Output SPEED Sens RPM,
as far as i know there is only one speed sensor and it is located on top of the rear differential should have one bolt holding it in. i believe that code says the speed sensor has a low output.
