I got the same problem that other guy, I can't crank my 96' mitsubishi eclipse
,and indeed I found an unplugged white connector just below the dashboard. The problem is, I already looked many times but I can't find where I should plug this connector, could you tell me? Should I remove some parts of the steering column?
Thanks a lot,
Joao Paulo

the 6 cylinder has a "V" notch in both upper metal timing belt cover housings bolted to the block with a single dot detent on the crank facing a raised flat at the 1 oclock position.
I have a 95 eclipse and had the same problem. Replaced the coil, plugs, wires. I had it taken to 3 garages before I found out. It's a problem with the anti-theft system. I don't have the exact location, but the guy who finally found out the problem said it was under the front bumper. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I know how puzzling the problem is. I spent a good 700 dollars and 4 months on two "I don't know"s and a little under $200 to actually get it fixed.
thats one of two things i had the same problem with my 94 honda civic and my 00 mitsubishi eclipse both were not cheep to fix saddly for you man on my civic my tranny was catching and it would stall the motor out idk if that was the complete problem because i sold the car the same day i found out and i do not talk to the guy i sold it too but i seen it running fine a week or so later and on my eclipse it was my ecu for some reason there was a defect or some wires touching or something like that they replaced all my wires and my ecu and it ran fine till i sold it for my 2007 mitsubishi eclipse and gladdly i have not had any problems scince i bought the car
