2007 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 6.0L gas- Computer problems
Computer keeps needing to be reset. One time the 4x4 will not function, then the remotes will not work or incable of relearning, then the tire monitoring system stops functioning, remote start quits working. Dealer just says pay me $100 to check then we will fix the problem. I have been dumb enough to do this the last three times but this time I am wondering if someone besides the dealer can repair.

If your check engine light is on after you start the vehicle you have a problem and the on board diagnostics are letting you know this with the light. This will lock out any accessory or remote start functions. Need to have OBDII scanned for codes
There is a procedure for your exhaust system. Its called Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration. Your dealer will have to do this for you. The particulate filter is in the exhaust system. It traps large carbon particulates so they don't get out into the air. The system is designed to take care of itself but does need to be done by someone with a tech2 scanner.
I would suggest stopping by an AutoZOne or O'Reilly's and "borrow" their Scan Tool to erase any codes.
TO reset the "Change Oil" light, turn the ignition to ON (do NOT start the car). Press the accelerator pedal all the way down (then release) to the floor 3 times in less than 5 seconds. Change Oil light should flash then go off. If not, try it again. The trick is to get this done in 5 seconds ro less.
This is a safety feature that the vehicle brings. You need to reset the E.C.U on dealership or it will keep doing it to you. It was probably caused by one single time that you did not closed the fuel cap correctly. Good luck
Turn the ignition on and within a few seconds slowly pump the gas pedal three times. A message displaying "oil life reset" should show up in the drivers information center. If you have the "newer" driver information center look for an "i" button and scroll through it until you see "oil life **%" displayed. At that point press and hold the reset button until it resets to 100%. Should take about 10 seconds of holding the button.
There should be instructions on how to reset it in the owners manual if this doesn't help. Good luck.
Just a thought, have you checked yout TPS(throttle position sensor)? I had similar problems with my 89 GMC Jimmy 4.3l, however a code 44 is strange. Also check to see if your problems go away if you advance the timing a few degree's.
