If the cruise control does not activate. Check the cruise control fuse. Do a visual check of all wiring relating to the cruise control system. Visually inspect the brake (and clutch if so equipped). If these are out of adjustment, the voltage cannot get to the components down stream with enough power to operate the cruise control.
Visually inspect for vacuum leaks in the release hose and valve, If the cruise control system fails to maintain the set speed, check the throttle linkage adjustment.

Why does'nt the Cruise Control Activate 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Hi Daniel, I'm glad to help! One of the most found problems with cruise control's inoperative here at the dealership is a vacuum problem. If you do not have vacuum from the engine to the cruise control under the hood, then even though the rest of the system is working fine it will not pull the accelerator pedal. NEXT: Another problem could be that the cruise control unit under the hood is not getting power from the brake switch. Check and see if there is power at the unit's connector under the hood. If there is no power then replace the brake switch. NEXT: The PCM may not be getting a signal to apply the cruise and this mainly happens because of a cruise switch problem OR the signal is not getting through the "Clock Spring". This could be either one causing this problem, so replace the switch first because its cheaper. If all of these things check out good then it could be the Cruise Control Unit itself. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Daniel.

Ford focus cruise control

Once you have turned your cruise control on accelerate to desired speed press SET button on right hand side of steering wheel before lifting foot from accelerator, then remove foot from accelerator. pushing RESUME button will deactivate cruise control without turning it off. Then when clear of traffic push resume again to activate cruise control. It will automatically resume to previous set speed.

Cruise control is inoperative

It can be faulty cruise control switch. If the switch is replaced, then it can be wiring issue or faulty cruise control board. But as the switch is replaced, get the voltage at the switch tested to confirm the switch is actually receiving voltage. If no voltage received at switch power supply wire then, apply external 12 volt power to the cruise control switch wire and then see if cruise control comes ON. If yes, then you know wiring is issue.

Brake lights and cruise control stopped working on 2004 chevy tahoe

I suggest to check your tail lights. sometimes if they go out, the cruise control will not work. Oh and also, what i did when this happened to me, I checked under the brake pedal and pushed and pulled the little button that activates the taillights and it worked again. It may have gotten stuck..
The brake light fuse may have popped..

ALSO: -- There seems to be a recall for this..
CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS MAY EXPERIENCE THE PERMANENT LOSS OF BRAKE LAMP FUNCTION OR BRAKE LAMPS THAT ARE ILLUMINATED AT ALL TIMES. THE CENTER HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LAMP (CHMSL) IS AFFECTED IN BOTH INSTANCES. ALSO, IF EQUIPPED, THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL BECOME INOPERATIVE. ANY TRAILER BRAKE LAMPS WHICH ARE CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE LAMP WIRING WILL MIMIC THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE LAMPS WHEN EITHER CONDITION OCCURS.

2003 expedition cruise control inoperative no cruise light on dash when buttom is pushed. All fuses in fuse box checked OK. No data stream information on cruise buttons.

Check the speed sensor at the tranny or near left front tire. Use a manual or find the location on the net. This sensor usually causes problems with the cruise control.

I have a 2008 Honda CRV and for the life of me I cannot engage the Cruise control- I press the Cruise Button on the right of the steer wheel and nothing happens - nothing Help anyone ? Tks Nancy

The cruise-controls have 2-buttons that must be activated before it gets the car going when you remove your foot off the gas-pedal.
The cruise button is essentailly a switch that turns 'on' the cruise servo-motor that tells the sytems that you wants to use it, so it gets ready.
There are other three switches on the right-side of the steering wheel namely: resume accel; cancel; set decel.
To get your car to cruise: you must steady your speed and foot on the gas-pedal. You cannot just press the switches and expect the car to cruise. It takes about two-to-three seconds for the system to respond to a set cruising speed.
How to do it: accelerate to a speed of about 30-mph. Press the 'cruise' button on the dash first. Next you press 'set decel' button. This will turn 'on' the cruise control light on the instrument panel. Then wait a second or three and you would feel the cruise engagement. Any touch on the brake pedal will slow down the car and turns the cruise off. The 'cancel' button turns off the cruise light on the instrument panel.
If you hit the brake-pedal at any time for any reason, and you would like to continue cruising again, simply press the 'resume accel' button.
The cruise system works in conjunction with the braking system of the car. So all major parts of the braking system must be in good condition, otherwise the cruise system could shut off itself.
