Question about 1996 Toyota Camry
My battery died over the weekend when I was out of town. I replaced my battery and now my alarm does not work. I tried to reset it using all the codes from my AMX alarm manual and the system just wouldn't turn on or respond to the number of flicks I am supposed to do after I turn on the car.
I will appreciate your help.
The computer for the alarm is probably causing your problem. Scan the anti theft module to trouble shoot for the problem. You might have a door sensor that is shorted.

SOURCE: I just replaced the battery
Try taking the car to an Audi dealer to reprogram the key.In some cases, depending on the country it was imported from ,it may take several attempts at programming to get it right.Your Audi dealer should do this at no charge. As for removing the battery, always clamp an alternate 12v source to the car cables so the vehicle does not lose a 12v source when changing batteries. These are complicated cars. You need to recode some systems after total loss of 12v.Once again the dealers will help.

If the alarm is a "factory" alarm, cycle the key in the ignition from off to on (where the dash indicators light up), 5 times. This is the reset proceedure for the "factory" alarm.
