What is cost to replace valve cover gasket on 2002 dodge neon?

I just had the plugs replaced and oil changed, and there is fresh oil on the spark plugs...it is near the bottom of the plugs, I would like some sort of price range I'm looking at to get fixed. Thank you

$200 for a valve cover gasket? I'm thinking not more than $100. I wish I could do your mechanic work, you would think I'm cheap!

you could get done cheaper have check around valve cover gasket not hard to fix if you have 2.0L ENGINE because 4 cylinder engine parts easier to get to and remove dont have many parts to remove like 6 cylinder engine which will cost you more.

Wow don't be stupid just change the sparkplug well seals, that would be why there was oil anywhere near your sparkplugs, if it was the valve cover gasket it would be a whole different story

Valve cover gasket being changed should not cost over $200. 00 if a private garage do the job.dealership charge probably $400.00 or little more. it depends on who do the jobs, call around get price check replacing valve cover gasket labor rate either 1 hour to 1 hour and a half.

To replace the valve cover gasket shouldn't be that expensive. Although those cars are known for blown head gaskets, so I would have them look carefully at the back of the engine for an oil leak. If it is leaking oil out of the head, it is only a matter of time before the head gasket will be pushing anti-freeze. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

SOURCE: bad oil leak 98 dodge neon it looks like from

There is an opening on the top of your timing cover sealed off with a rubber plug. Remove the plug to gain sightful access to inside your timing. But first I suggest you clean your engine first ot all grease and build up caused by your leak. In diong so, you will have a clearer idea of where the leak is actually coming from. I just rebuilt a 2000 neon, so if you need some info on anything , I have your info.

SOURCE: 1998 Dodge Neon engine died when valves started knocking and car will not restart.

Check the engine for compression. Your head gasket may be shot. I have a 97 that had a similar problem, and we did the head gasket, car runs fine now. Prior to doing the gasket mine wouldn't start at all.

Do a compression test.

Changed spark plugs on a 2004 mazda found oil in the pistons #4#3#2#1 was no oil in it

You didn't find oil in the pistons, you found oil in the spark plug tubes. This is fairly common on older engines. Over time the seals in the valve cover begin to leak around the spark plug tubes. Oil then works it's way into the tube and settles in the bottom.

There is an easy fix. Simply replace the valve cover gasket.

Am changing plugs on 2006 aveo. Found oil in the

Yeah, kind of. The valve cover gasket needs replaced. The seals around the plugs go first because of heat. If the oil mark was near the top of the plug boot, replace the valve cover gaskets/seal. If it was near the bottom, slap in the plugs and wires.

Carrepair

Put some fresh gasoline into the tank.
Charge (or replace) the battery.
Change the gasoline (not oil) filter.
Change the spark-plugs.
If it has a manual (not an automatic) transmission, push-start it.

just do your oil changes spark plug changes airfilters ,fuel filter, maybe a radiator flush to keep antifreeze fresh..check ur fluids brake, powersteering, just check tranny oil. do not do transmission oil change unless you have shifting problem people tend to change things that arent necessary i believe you having timming chain never has to be replaced just change things that you havent done since you've gotten it and you should be okay

What is your recommendation for oil change for Acura TL 04...every 3,0000 or 5,0000 miles

You should change it at least every 3,000miles or every 3 months, whichever comes first. The more often you change your oil, the longer your engine will last.
