Take it to a locksmith. You don't want to risk pulling it down yourself especially where the immobiliser harness is concerned, in addition Honda tumblers are really hard to source, the defectives ones will have to be removed. You need an experienced locksmith to do this.

It might pay you to call a locksmith. Good ones know how to get into cars and they usually know how to get the codes needed to cut you a new key. That might cost you about $15 depending versus all the hassle for you.

1975 dodge sportsman rv ignition tumbler removal and replacement

To replace the ignition tumbler in a 1975 Dodge Sportsman RV, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Remove the steering column cover: Start by removing the screws or bolts that hold the steering column cover in place. Once the cover is removed, you should be able to access the ignition switch and tumbler.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connections: There should be two electrical connections that attach to the ignition switch. Disconnect these before attempting to remove the tumbler.
  3. Remove the retaining screw: Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screw that holds the tumbler in place.
  4. Remove the tumbler: After removing the screw, the tumbler should slide out of the ignition switch.
  5. Install the new tumbler: Insert the new tumbler into the ignition switch, making sure it is securely in place.
  6. Reinstall the retaining screw: Use the screwdriver to reinstall the retaining screw.
  7. Reconnect the electrical connections: Reconnect the two electrical connections that you disconnected in step 2.
  8. Replace the steering column cover: Once everything is back in place, replace the steering column cover and secure it with the screws or bolts.
  9. Test the new tumbler: Finally, test the new tumbler to make sure it is working properly and that the RV starts and runs smoothly.

How replace a lock tumbler on a 1995 Mercedes benz c220

If the key does not turn at all in the ignition tumbler then your going to need to drill a hole in the side of the steering lock in order to manually release the steering lock and remove it complete with the ignition tumbler attached. If you get a new steering lock you can examine it to see exactly where to drill the hole and how to manually release it. If the key does turn at least to position 1 then all you need is the removal pins that slide into the small holes around the face of the tumbler. If there are no holes then once the key is in position 1 all you have to do is turn the tumbler housing to the left until is unscrews. Let me know if you need any further assistance on the removal if the key is stuck.

Cant get key switch out of housing, on a 1974 chevy pick up.Trere are no screws or clips visible.

If you mean remove the ignition tumbler from the steering column, you will have to remove the steering wheel and lock plate, then you will need to remove the turn signal lever and screws, and then pull the turn signal switch up and out of the way, you should then be able to see the housing for the ignition tumbler down in the steering column. Look at the tumbler housing and there should be a small slot towards the end of the housing that you can put a small standard screwdriver into and depress a locking latch that is built into the tumbler. When this latch is depressed you will be able to pull the ignition tumbler straight out of the column.

Honda civic 2004 key will not turn in ignition switch even after moving the wheel for the tires to loosen

First try another key if you have one. Second insert the key and while slightly turning it wiggle the key in a upward & downward motion. Often this will allow the key to turn. What you need to do to correct the problem (provided your key is not the problem) is to replace the ignition switch tumbler. It sounds like you only need the tumbler and not the entire switch which would include the steering wheel lock pin.

Time for a new ignition switch. This just the switch portion and not the tumbler. You should be able to still use your old tumbler and key. Good luck to you. Thanks for using Fixya!

Ignition tumbler key

Place key into ignition, use a paper clip and press the tiny hole on the switch. Turn the key back towards ACC position and pull the cylinder right out. Reverse procedure to install.
