With your thumb push the narrow end of the light back. The idea is to slide the light back a little toward the fatter end. This should free up the retention clip at the narrow end. Then gently pry out the narrow end of the light. I used a thin screwdriver and a piece of old leather to keep from scratching the mirror body. Once the narrow end is out the whole light will come out. unplug the old light. Do the reverse to install. Plug in the light. Put light in fat end first. Pivot the narrow end in. Slide the fat end towards the narrow end to seat the retention clip.

directly behind the mirror on the inside of the door there will be a plastic triangular shaped cover
gently remove the cover using your fingers or something flat like a knife blade
once removed you will see a few holes in the metal of the door, in these holes you will see about 3 bolt heads which hold the mirror to the door, also you will see a multi wire block for the mirror wiring
seperate the wiring block and remove the 3 bolts holding the mirror to the door
don't even think about replacing the glass if that is all that is broken as it is a major drama
just buy a complete mirror assembly and fit to the door unless it is colour coded to the paint on the car in which case you will have to have it painted
re assemble in reverse order to disassembly

Remove Old Mirror
Take the screw out and remove the molding panel that attached around the outside of the power mirror.
Remove the bolts connecting the mirror to the door assembly. If equipped, unplug the power side view mirror wiring harness connector.
Unplug the electric connectors, and pull the mirror out of the molding.
