First you need to retrieve the trouble codes stored in the computer. If you don't have a code reader or scan tool you can take it to your local autoparts store (advance auto, autozone, ect) and they can retrieve them for you. Then we can go from there.

I read before that you can turn the key to the on position 3 tea and will give you the codes, does that work?

03 dodge ram 1500 crew cab 4.7l v8 starts fine when cold but won't start after it is warm

First i would check the crank sensor by looking for rpm's on the tachometer or scan tool if you see any rpm's then crank sensor is good. Then check for leaking injectors and if they are not leaking then you will need to check the ECM it may have failed.

95 chev blazer check engine light won't come on

If the truck runs, I would say its a bulb.
If the truck won't start, look at the fuse for the ECM.

Check engine light gas smell

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The check engine light is on because ECM (Control Module) detected a fault with your car's system. ECM has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and your car needs to be looked at. You'll need to get the codes checked from a nearby dealer/mechanic. Please revert back for more help.

My 2001 Dodge Ram check engine light came on tonight and I know how to check the fault codes. The code that came up was p 0133. Can anyone tell me what that means? thanks

It's referring to a slow response from O2 oxygen sensor #2. It could be a defective O2 sensor. This won't prevent your car from running, but your fuel economy/emissions could suffer. I would start with double checking the connector first if you can get to it.

My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Pick Up King Cab, will not start. When I turn it on, it has a strong crank but won't start. Need Help!

If the check engine light is on, scan it for codes. Check for fuel pressure and spark at the spark plugs. Reply back on your findings & i will continue to help, based on what you find.
I hope this helps.

Hi, I have a problem with a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 series 5.2 Liter. It will crank over but won't start every once in a while it will start and run for about 20 seconds, then it dies and won't start...

check all your vacuum lines. if there is a vacuum leak, the truck will crank, but not start. if you need a vacuum diagram, go to www.autozone.com create a profile it's free, add vehicle. put in the info of your dodge ram. then from the main screen, where it says select a category, select vehicle repair guide. on the next screen select emission controls. on the next screen where it says select a chapter, select vacuum diagrams. as you scroll down just click on the diagram for your engine. hope it helps. good luck.
