Hi the balance shaft has to set by removing the bolt in the engine block that is in line with the front of the balance shaft the get a 6mm bolt that is 100mm long slide it into the hole where you revoved the bolt turn the balance shaft keeping a slight pressure on the bolt until it locates the hole in the shaft and locks it up then if you look at the oil pump there is a mark on the top of the housing and the oil pumps shaft just line them up stick your belt on tension and remove the locking bolt yates210456

There is a bolt you need to remove and insert a longer 6mm about 2 1/2 inches long to align the right balance shaft. the bolt is on the right side of the engine. there is a notch on the other shaft on the left. and a pointer on the block just to the top of the shaft... hope this helps good luck jimmy

No spark coming from coil on honda accord

Check the voltage supply to the coil if it is ok then the coil is faulty although I have seen this problem with a bad timing belt as well.

Replacing timing belt

According to THIS ebay listing there are (kinda) 2: 1 is the T-belt; the other is a Balance Shaft Belt. Ask the shop what the belts are for (don't offer the info) and see what they say.

good luck,

When im going to change the timming belt i hve 156,000 miles

look in the owners manual and under maintenance it should tell you when to check or change this. Also you can call a Honda dealer and they can advise you of the right time to change just ask for the service department and ask the service shop foreman.

Changing a timing belt on a 2001 Honda Accord

All of your fan belts needs to be taken off because the timing belt is located beneath the crankshaft pulley. There is a possibility that you may need to lift the motor off its motor mounts to gain access to the timing belt. Remember, the timing belt can't be seen from the outside.
