The overflow tank or radiator cap may not be holding the coolant under pressure. Try replacing the cap which would be cheaper than ant other fix.

SOURCE: 2006 chrysler pacifica-wheel hubs burning hot

The problem might have already been there, the steel wheels are making it noticeable, because they don`t cool down as quick. Most likely is the calipers sticking,or you have a set of high dollar brake pads on the vehicle, and they are heating the rotors up.The high dollar pads are a very hard composite pad witch produce a lot of friction, and heat as a sort of side affect.

SOURCE: ENGINE COOLANT SYSTEM NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY

1. Check the level you filled the coolant to...If you overfilled it this will happen. 2.  Did you add the correctly diluted antifreeze? 3. Check to be sure the radiator is unobstructed

SOURCE: 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Auotmatic Liftgate

Yes new gas shocks on the lift gate will fix your problem. I had the same problem on my 2005 Pacifica and when it hit my head- I came up with the solution.

Good Luck,
Ray

SOURCE: My 2002 Oldsmobile Silhoutte's coolant gage running hot

Change the thermostat, and bleed the air out of the system, and make sure the cooling fans are coming on,and then going off,on there own, with the ac off,if this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

My 2004 Pacifica won't stay running after I take my foot off the gas peddle?

Check for dirty IAC (idle air control), maybe EGR and throttle blade dirty also. Could also be bad coolant temp sensor, MAF/MAP, bad o2 sensor, tune up items.

Have a 2004 Pacifica that keeps overheating. Noticed the fan wasn't running and had it replaced. Still overheating. Told the relay is fine. Anyone have any suggestions???

Probably not much you can do yourself. A mechanic would check the operation of the fan relay by jumpering a wire to bypass it, then check each terminal for power and ground. I assume that has been done. Then the mechanic would watch the computer with a scanner to see if the engine computer commands the relay to turn on when the engine temp reaches 225 degrees, or the ac is turned on.
The engine computer provides the ground circuit to make the fan relay work.
For example, if the coolant temp sensor is faulty, the computer won't know the fan is needed.

Heat is not acting right

If you checked properly and coolant/rad isn't getting hot, coolant is up to proper level, then I'd replace thermostat.

Heater turns from hot to cold

Have you checked the coolant level?

2005 Chrysler Pacifica heater goes from hot to cold by itself.

Under the dash there are doors that open and close to give you hot or cold. Sounds like you have a vacuum leak in a hose or one of the vacuum motors that moves the door I would hook up a cheep hand held vacuum pump to each one and see if they hold vacuum also the one that opens the door that keeps the heat blowing is the one to look at if the door stays open and you have heat with the hand pump and you don.t have to keep pumping it the hose or farther back is leaking.

if it got exstremly hot you possibly heat seized the motor let it cool down and check the coolant levels dont open radiator when hot as their will heaps of pressure in the system.

Shows that its overheating but the fluids are ok

would be a good idea to change the thermostat as it could be blocked and keeping the coolant circulating around the block and not running it thru the radiator causing the temp to go up but radiator fluids to stay cool

Engine running hot

Check the condition of the coolant.
If you have any indication of oil, the headgasket could be bad.
