I been trying to fix my check engine light problem for last couple of weeks and im getting nothing is workin . i took the car to the mechanic and run the diagnostics and took care of couple of things that pop up witht he codes like 1. gas cap 2. cannistor hose leak . i run the smog test to check the leak . but it came up negative . we couldnt find any leak . now i dont know what to do . if u have any suggestion please tell me how to resolve this problem.
Its Honda Accord V6 2.7 Lt. 1996.
You may not have a leak, the problem may be with the sensor on the fuel tank that tells the Power Train Control module if the system holds vacuum, like all sensors these will and do fail on occassion, if you ran a leak down test and the system held vacuum within the manufacturers specs then the sensor may very well be the problem that is turning on the check engine light.
