Question about 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

I have a 2001 JGC Limited. Recently, the interior lights (all of them) have stayed on when I turn on the vehicle. When I exit and lock the vehilce it stays true to the 30 sec. lamp delay and will turn off. However, when I get back into the vehicle and it is running....all the interior lights stay on. I have tried disconnecting the battery and the system never advises that any of the doors are open. Any one have any suggestions?

My problem is. when i turn my headlights on i get this constant ringing for at least three or four minutes... my car is a 2001 volkswagen jetta tdi.

The drivers door switch turns on/off the interior lamp BUT it is also used to signal the door open and closed position. So it is not getting a door closed signal either from the door proximity switch or I believe on VW a switch on the locks interior ! Therefore it thinks you have left your H/lights on and exited the vehicle ! Hope this get's you back on the road

96 JGC with new battery if I let it sit for more than 3 days the battery will die and it wont start.

if you bought a good battery and not just a cheap battery, after you have it charged and your done driving it,turn it off and exit the vehicle, but stay there and make sure the dome lights turn off they are on a timer,if they don't turn off you'll need that replaced.

Battery keeps dying on 2001 Ford Windstar.

Check your battery terminals make sure they are clean and corrosion free.
Also check all ...A-L-L courtesy lights in your car. there are some ceiling mounted lights that are passenger operated and may be on... Also check your glove compartment and consoles for lights.
Also check for charger cords... These have indicator lights and sometimes can drain the batt as well.
Also, under the hood, is a gravity activated lamp . Open the hood and make sure that it's going off and staying off as the hood closes...
Let me know if you find anything...

trace to switch (can't remember name, but it has to do with the timing of lights) and clean contactpoints. if not replace switch>

2000 JGC interior dome lights stay on.

Seems like an anti theft module problem. You should have it scanned and get a code. some stores do it for free.Such as auto Zone.
