Nissan extended their warranty but you have exceeded it by 4000 miles. If you push real hard, they may help you put.

What type of Transmission? Many use the CVT and there are many known issues with it. My son had to go to Nissan and LOUDLY complain and Nissan picked up all but $900 for a brand new transmission.

run the fault codes as it appears that the engine /transmission has gone into limp mode and is restricting the rpm to prevent damage .

Have the oil changed and the filter checked . I have a Mitsubishi lancer and it is in good nick but If I apply power before the shift happens it chirps the tyres . have the bands and clutch pack adjusted Run fault codes to check for faulty solenoids and servos.
