On GM inline engines, cylinder #1 is the one closest to the front(pulley)end of the engine. If you pulled the wires off the distributor/coil pack, and don't know where they go,put one wire one at a time and crank it.If it doesn't backfire, repeat until it starts.(this is only easy on 4 cylinder or smaller engines)

This ECU reports no spark (41 or DTC 42) is it?
and no spark , you will never have fueling, (ECU rules)
you need to use a compression gauge.
#2 is dead, this is TBI car so there is no #2 injector.
so that leaves 2 things.
1 low or no compression
2: the spark plug, wire or cap are bad.
ever tune it up? cap/rotor/wire set , and plugs, at 60k miles?
my guess is you dont have that $20 tool.

it must be done WOT, or the readings are meaningless.

95 geo metro 3cyl. 1.0L no spark changed

Pull one or two sparkplugs and check them for moisture; not fuel, but for water beads.
I don't know how long your engine ran after losing coolant but there is a chance that you lost the head gasket and have gotten water into the cylinders.

Need firing order and placement of first wire on cap

If you have the 3 cylinder engine, the firing order is 1/3/2. The distributor rotation is counter-clockwise looking at it from above, and the #1 spark plug wire goes on the distributor pin closest to the driver side fender.
If you have the 4 cylinder engine, the firing order is 1/3/4/2. The distributor rotation is also counter-clockwise, and the #1 wire goes on the distributor pin closest to the front passenger headlight.
Hope this helps!
