ABS and Brake Lights both are lit on the dashboard instrument panel. Whats wrong?
This may sound crazy but change the bulbs in the light that is up by spoiler and im sure the lights in dash will go off. the dash light and the rear spoiler light use the same ground. let me no if it worked or not.
SOURCE: abs on dashboard stays lit all the time.
The only way to know axactly what happen is with a diagnostic computer.
Because the ABS use a Speed sensor on each of the wheels.
Hydraulic selenoids on the ABS box or Module..
If the light is on. its mean the Anti Lock Brake System is inactive., You gonna brake like any car with no ABS.
I hope this information work for you.
SOURCE: Dashboard Lights - "brake lamp" light stays lit/ dashboard bulb for gas gauge burned out
you can remove the cluster and buy the bulb separate as far as the brake light it is either the float is bad in the master cyl. or you have low frt brake pads
SOURCE: abs brake problem
I found my solution on the web a few years ago. My 2002 RVS had permanent ABS lights and no ABS.
It was suggested to check the ABS electrical connections at the brake disks . There are quick connects there and I found a corroded connector on the front passenger side. My wife started the RVS and put it in gear. With the brake pedal pressed, I wiggled the connectors and the ABS light went "off and on" right away. I replaced the connector and it never happened again. It is likely 4 years ago.
Worth a try.
SOURCE: Changed brake pads and fluid. Brake light/ABS light still lit.
Go back around and check to make sure you didnt accidentally pinch or cut a brake pad sensor. Also the ABS modules on VAG cars are pretty crappy.
SOURCE: The brake, ABS and EPS lights remain lit on the
As long and the brake pedal is firm and feels normal, then yes, its safe to drive.

About a year ago had just the rear brake pads replaced. Shortly after a couple months the ABS light came on. Took the car back to where I had the pads replaced and was told they don't know why except maybe the computer needed to be replaced. 1500.00 was the estimate. Brakes worked ok and was told that I wouldn't hurt the car if I drove it that way. A month ago now the brake light came on, brakes still work ok, fluids good, no problem except there now is 2 lights on the instrument panel. I now have stored the car for the winter but would like to know what to do in the spring to get these lights off. Any idea?
