Have replaced computer, fuel pump, fuel filter, crank sensor on 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country Wagon. I have purchased a new fuel pressure regulator. Is it encased in plastic? If so how to take apart?
Hi Debra: I sugges to check this procedure...
Fig. 1: TBI fuel pressure regulator
WARNING
To prevent spring pressure release, hold the regulator housing against the throttle body while removing the mounting screws.
To install:
WARNING
The pressure regulator diaphragm MUST be installed with the vent
hole aligned with the vent holes in the throttle body and regulator
housing!
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate
your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about
this answer.
Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.
