My car yesterday wouldnt even turn over... then out of blue fired right up.. i know the security issue trick.. do i need to know another?
If you notice that the security light is on, that is a common issue with pontiacs. My mechanic told me that my security light was going to start giving me problems. The security light can stop you from starting your car for x amount of time. I was told that it is an easier solution just to disable the security than to get it fixed.

I have the same problem--to start with if it has an aftermarket remote starter, some of the mess with the antitheft module, it may be different in your case but i found a small box on the rad support that you will hear clicking when you try to start the car.
I found that unplugging it then turning the key to the crank position then shutting it off all the way--then plug it back in--it should start after that--dunno why--but it worked for me.
other than that you can turn the key to the on position and leave it for twenty minutes-this should reset the theftlock--it should then start--Hope this helps buddy--GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!1
