no bypass or hot wiring thats movies have key cut by vin at dealer or an authorized locksmith -but--sounds like you have attempted to already so now you will need to replace ignition cylinder and possibly switch and that would be dealer visit for the flash
There are a few possible ways to reset the Ford Focus anti-theft security system. One way is to put the physical key in the lock, and then turn it to the unlock position. Do this, without moving it away from that unlock position for about 30 seconds. After that, You can unlock the car and start the engine.
your anti theft device is activated, you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob, call your car dealer to get a new one, they are programmed for each car only, you cannot bypass it.
Why do think the key security is bad? If you still have a factory key, this is not the problem...if no factory key, you can take your VIN number or original key to GM dealer to get new key that they will program for you...Check for dirty battery connections:)
I would first want a refund from that dealer.
Yes it could be the neutral safety switch. You could try cranking it in neutral, or bypass that switch. Could also be something with the anti-theft system if the security light is flashing.
This is a problem in your antitheft system. The security light is only for this system. You will need a new key, ignition, or TDM. (THEFT DETERRENT MODULE) The hard part is determining which of these is the problem. You can also bypass this system and use the existing parts. You only bypass the security feature. This link explains
remove steering wheel and when you get to the ignition switch there is a small pin slide out and pull ignition switch that's how I did it in my Chevy the auto parts store have a special wrench you need to remove the clip in the column find a store with loaners so you don't have to buy one
you can not bypass the security in that car, it is built into the main computer, they have problems with the ignition switch screwing up and the only way to start it while the light flashes is to turn the key to ON but don't crank engine, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes until light goes out then start car.
There are a few ways that i know of to BYPASS this system. This problem has been occurring on GM vehicles since 1982. They are fully aware of the problem and hundreds of vehicles are effected by this same curse. Since your security light is flashing, this tends to lead toward either a worn out key or a bad ignition. This system is all about READING the ohms of the chip in your key. The ignition reads this code, sends it to the Theft Deterrent Module (TDM), and then the TDM sends a signal that allows the starter to start. It is BREAKS in this communication that triggers the security light and the "no start" situation. If the security light were to be solid instaed of flashing. then this would indicate a failure in the TDM. Go this link. It explains the situation and offers 2 ways to bypass this system. The first one is considered a key/ignition bypass. This should work for you though it would still leave the TDM active. The second one is a full bypass which eliminates the entire system 100%.
Changing the ignition has caused a break in the communication of the anti theft security system. Here is a link that will explain how this system works and offer some ways to fix it yourself. I've been dealing with these systems for a long time, i've had great luck with just bypassing the entire system. there is a link for that also on this page.
