99 chevy blazer blows heat only sometimes

My 99 chevy blazer is acting up. i had an engine put in it last month and just this week it has started blowing hot air out the vents only sometimes, the rest of the time it blows cold air out. seems like it only wants to blow hot air when im above 50 mph. now, my volt meter on my dash is acting crazy. i got my battery tested and its at 12.73 volts, so i know its not that. but when my window is up and i hit the up button on it the lights will dim and the volt meter on my dash will drop to about 12 and it normally reads 14. when the turn signal is on it does the same thing but only when the light is flashing. so it makes the needle bounce... anyone got any ideas. i have checked all my grounds.. im stumped. please help!

You need to check for a loose ground again. The dash seems to have a loose ground. Your heat and ac are controlled by motors that get input from your switch. You might try following that harness and see if there is a loose ground. Other than that I don't have a clue. You might also check near the firewall and make sure the ground strap there was bolted to the engine.

What year motors will fit chevy blazer LS 1999 ?

The 4.3 will fit. If you get above 2002, you will have to put all the sensors off yours on it.

Why my 1999 Chevy Blazer 4.3, engine starts, runs about 5 second, dies and then won't start, if you wait 10 minutes it starts and runs fine, this happens once every few weeks/months or twice in one da

You may be having an intermittent failure with the fuel pressure regulator - checking the fuel pressure when the truck won't start may pinpoint this problem. If the pressure looks OK, this same problem can be caused by the ignition system as well (ignition coil or control module).

Dodge grand Caravan 1995 has been acting up with erratic heating since last month.

Could possibly need a new thermostat, the thermostat opens and closes depending on the heat of the coolant. maybe also check your heating core. as well as the quality of you coolant.

Why wont my 99 chevy blazer temperature warm up?

You may have vapour lock in your heater lines. Start engine, put heat lever on high, disconnect one of the lines on your heater core, the one on the flow out side, & see if you have any air coming out. Once antifreese comes out stick line back on & retighten clamp. Make sure your cooling system is topped off. Also your water pump may not be functionihg to it's maximum. Take rad cap off cold & view flow rate. If inadequate you may have to replace the water pump. Good luck!

2001 chevy blazer not starting

I had this same problem with my 1997 Blazer, which required a fuel pump replacement as Nitrobike said. The sign to look for is when you get in the Blazer, turn your key forward to the accessory position, but not the start position. You should hear the fuel pump charging. It sounds like a hissing or whirring noise for about 2-3 seconds while it pumps fuel into the lines to prime the engine.

Fuel pump replacement isn't cheap, about $700-$1000.
