1995 Isuzu Rodeo is equipped with a belt driven fan with a viscous fan clutch for engine cooling. The electric fan is for A/C condensor cooling only. The condensor fan is switched on and off by the A/C fan relay, which is operated by the triple pressure switch located in the A/C line on the left side of the engine compartment.

DO NOT
attempt to replace the triple pressure switch without first using the proper equipment to evacuate and recover the freon in the A/C system. The A/C system is under high pressure and attempts to replace parts without discharging the system can result in serious injury.

    P.S. If the condensor fan is not working, it is about 90% more likely to be caused by either A/C system leaks or a defective fan motor than it is the triple pressure switch.

Where can I find the mercedes C240 radiator fan terminal

The fastest way to check a radiator fan is to turn on the a\c while idling , this should automatically turn on both fans at once, if they don't come on first check the fuses then the fan relay. If the motors are working when the a/c is on then your thermoswitch has gone bad (its located somewhere on the radiator, look for two wires coming out of it)

LOCATION OF FAN RELAY 2004 COROLLA 1.8

Hi Miguel, The relay for the radiator fan is located in the fuse holder and those for the air con, usually in a separate holder close to the main holder. To check the operation of the radiator fan, disconnect the cable from the sensor switch fitted onto the lower tank of the radiator. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine and check the fan is working. If it works and not when the temperature requires it to, the sensor switch is defective and needs replacement. Radiator fan not working fan is ok

There is a cable connecting from radiator fan to thermostat switch.
Thermostat switch located at near engine block, you can trace it from radiator hose to engine block, there is a terminal connected to thermostat.
To check wheter fan is ok or not, pull out/disconnet the terminal, radiator fan will be turned on, if not, this could be a problem with radiator fan.
Otherwise you should clean terminal or replace thermostat switch.

1998 Volkswagon Beetle - Overheating

Hi,

To my knowledge, the thermal switch is normally located attached to the radiator. This senses the coolant's temperature inside the radiator and upon reaching a predetermined level switches on the radiator fan. Further, to my understanding, either the A/C or the heater must be engaged for the fan to activate.

As to your other concern, overheating; In my country, most overheating issues on Volkswagen models are resolved by:
  • entirely removing the thermostat (not applicable in cold regions);
  • wiring the fan to switch on once the engine is running (with or without the A/C or heater being turned on);
  • replacing the radiator thermal switch for the fan to a lower temp.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa

Overheating

Hi,

Most normal causes for overheating would be:
  • clogged radiator,
  • insufficient coolant level (radiator and reservoir);
  • too soft radiator hoses;
  • defective/leaky water pump (impeller);
  • water pump belt/tensioner;
  • thermostat (mechanical);
  • thermal switch;
  • radiator fan, fan clutch;
  • fan relay;
  • fan fuse.
In some instances, the fan only works in conjunction with the A/C and/or heater and therefore would only work if either of those two are enabled.

Should your particular vehicle be using a radiator fan with clutch, that could also cause the fan blades not to spin even if the fan motor is turning.

Pls check the above mentioned components.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
