Won't crank I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy that won't crank at times. In the beginning, it would take maybe 5 minutes then it would start. Now it seems to be taking an hour of waiting then it starts. It happens sporadically. Sometimes once a week, sometimes every few days. I have recently replaced the battery, starter, and fuel pump. I have had the cables and alternator checked and they all are fine. My remote entry has not worked in at least a year and I rarely use the automatic locks. My key is old and does not look to be the original; I bought this car used 4 years ago. I have no idea what it could be.

Can you jumper the fuel pump and make it start and continue to run ? Have you checked to see if you are getting spark when it won't start ? Could be a relay or coil, ignition module, or other component.
There are two basic reasons for not starting - no spark or no fuel, both of which are controlled by the ECM. You need to check error codes and these items - for the spark, test it at the cylinder 1 sparkplug; for the fuel check the pressure (if too high or low, problem!).
check for a spark if no spark and no fuel to feed bar for injectors ,then try spare key if that doesnt work then its dealer only to look at immobilisor
I also had this problem with mine. There's a main power cable that runs to the battery. The bolt was completely corroded, so there was no connection = no power to start the truck. Check that, it'll cost ya less than 5 bucks to fix.
