I took the panel off the passenger side door of my 2002 chevy silverado 1500 in order to replace the lock actuator that apparently wasn't working. When I did that I quickly found out that the actuator is missing. Dumb question coming, but where does the actuator get secured to the door? The only place that would seem to work would seem to get in the way of the window. Any pictures would help.

IF THE WHOLE HOUSING IS SHAKING YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL THE INSIDE PANEL AND RETIGHTED I THINK 3 OR 4 BOLTS

I had this problem in my pontiac grand prix. it was the dual zone door actuator.( I can't remember if that was the technical name) basically there is a door underneath and behind the dash, depending on how much cold or hot air you want there is an actuator that opens or closes the door.

check all wire conections also replace the actuator on the front axle but check for power there first if you have power replace that switch as well .
SOURCE: passenger window won't cycle up on 2001 chevy
If you can hear some noise on the door when switch is pressed that means you have power on the motor . The window regulator works with steel cable on plastic pulleys so what you have to check is if the cable is on the right place or if there's any broken pulley . The best choice is replace the window regulator and that will cost you about $50.00 @ local auto parts store . If you can't hear any sound could be a blow fuse , bad switch or a bad motor on the window regulator that will came on the new window regulator . Hope this help
