Seat belts Thanx plenty for the advice in the brake system on the '93 olds cutlass cierra. I may have overlooked the need to have them turned and managed to complete the job myself. I now have a very strange problem due to the crazy inspection laws here. My olds failed because the front drivers belt did not fasten as securly as the inspector would have liked. He said I could remove a belt from the back seat and use it for the front only I cannot seem to get the existing front seat belt off. The rear was held on with a bolt but the front needs to come off using an alan wrench yet I can find no way to get it loose, I had thought that the alan wrench was needed to release a locking mechanism and I should be able to pull it off with no problem. I have thought and thought on this and am at loss once again. Any advice? jin

Ugh, I once tried to remove a REAR seat belt in a Jeep Cherokee that had a tear in it, and I couldn't get the $&*&$# thing out. Check your front belt again though, are you sure it's an allen head bolt? I think it may be a torx head. The torx is more of a star pattern, each indent is rounded, where the allen head is a definite square flat edged pattern. Hope this makes sense. The point being if it is a torx head, you won't get it off w/ an allen wrench, you need the torx. You can buy a set to fit a ratchet, just make sure it has one that's large enough. Let me know the outcome! good luck countrycurt0

How do I change out headlight bulb on 91 olds cutlass cierra

Behind the headlight, you should see the nylon bulb holder. Turn it counter clockwise, about a 1/4 turn, and it should come out. Pull the old bulb straight out, and replace it with the new one. Don't touch the glass part of the new bulb with bare fingers, or you'll be replacing it again. Use cotton gloves or a paper towel. Put the holder back in the headlight, turn it clockwise until it locks.

1984 Olds Cutlass Cierra Body Frame matches what other cars.

I'm not sure that they are an exact match, but the equivalent GM vehicles for the Cutlass Ciera were the Chevrolet Celebrity, the Buick Century, and the Pontiac 6000.

Yes, It will Work. Just make sure that the Place where you get the Belt will allow you to Return the Belt if it will not Fit. Sometimes you may need a Shorter or Longer Belt. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

BRAKE PADS

OK Jin, 1st I'd like to know if u know what kind of shape the brake pads are in, are they wearing evenly, (inner and outer, and both wheels) are they grinding metal on metal? If everything is wearing evenly, and u haven't gotten to the point of metal pads (brake lining worn off) grinding on the rotors, u can probably get away w/ just changing the pads, although to do a quality job, you should also remove the brake rotors, have them cut (ground down perfectly smooth and flat) by an auto shop (about $18 each in my area), and bleed the brake system to flush out the old fluid so u have new fluid in the system. You also may need calipers if break pads are not wearing evenly. Let me know condition of brake pads and other above questions, and I can give u more info. I'll be on the road tomorrow for 15+ hours tomorrow, so be patient for a reply! countrycurt0
