You can connect a 12volt battery through the cigarette lighter this should keep the code in you radio just be carefull as the battery terminals will hav e voltage on them so dont short them out or touch metal work with the + wire

Take another 12v battery apart, (also a little UPS 12v battery works well) wire two thin wires SECURELY on the poles of battery and to the thick wires of the car, (attention the polarity, + to +, - to -, so the batteries now are in parallel) and tape the wires.
(Do not try turning on the car meanwhile)
You can now change the main battery without losing your precious code (;])
Good work !

Get some jump leads and another battery of car, connect the leads to the terminals after you have loosened them make sure they stay connected while you remove the battery this way the radio will remain powered and you will not have to put in the code

How do I obtain the security code for my Land Rover radio

Take your Land Rover to a L/R dealer they will obtain the VIN from the vehicle and search their archives and should be able to pass on the radio code if radio is correct for the vehicle some radios require removal from the vehcle to obtain numbers from the frame. hope this is helpful.

1999 Land rover discovery New battery Need to re-set the radio but the radio seems to be without power. What to do?

call it a lesson well learned ,it's called a memory saver , a 9volt battery that plugs into lighter , power port saving your cars memory if you do it again (changing or disconnecting battery) now you need to take a trip to dealer to un lock radio .

I replaced the battery in my 2001 Land Rover Discovery key, and it does not work, how do I reprogram?

You should not have to reprogram the key, make sure the battery is in the right way and/or clean the contacts, otherwise You need a new key.

I have a 1996 land rover discovery, I just had a new battery put in and lost the radio code.I need the radio code and instructions on how to put it in the radio.

The folding pouch that came with the truck would have a card inside a plastic holder with the number on it. I do not know about pushing a button so many times and then on to the next number. All I do is enter the five digit code and bingo. I work on mine a lot and have to reset it every time I disconnect the battery. Check with the dealership or get online at a landrover forum;http://www.lrrforums.com/index.php?s=2520478ada19011f439696be3e4e31d3 and there are experts there who can help at no charge.

Land rover 2004 radio says alert wont change

In order to fix you need the code, typically the code is in the owners manual somewhere. Otherwise you can get the radio code from the dealer. I have seen this problem about 10 times and the code has always worked. Hope this helps!

Radio unlock code for 1998 land rover discovery

Give the dealership your VIN# and they will in turn provide you with an 'unlock' code. Input the code and you should have radio. If not, you will need to remove the radio and give the dealer the chassis # found on the case.

Radio code

I had a new cd player fitted to my 97 discovery and that did. Raido codes are free, providing you can prove ownership. Just visit a main landrover dealer, they got mine in about 10 minites.
