95 accord auto not blowing heat just cool air
There is a list of things you need to check I will go from the most simple to the most extreme
- Does it have the proper level of coolant?
- If the coolant is full is the mix of coolant and water correct, should be a 50-50 mix
you can check with a cheap coolant tester found at any parts store
-Check the passenger side floorboard carpet, if the floor is soaking wet with coolant then the Heater core has went bad and will need to be replaced. In most vehicles the center console, glove box ,and some of the dash will need to be removed to get to the heater core
- The thermostat could be stuck in the open position, if this occurs some vehicles will not get up to proper running temperature. I would replace the thermostat because they are relatively cheap and simple to replace
-Unfortunately the water pump in a 95 accord is timing belt driven, so you won't be able to easily detect if it leaking or not. But if the water pump is leaking or not turning fast enough to circulate the coolant properly then the vehicle will eventually start to run at a higher temperature than normal. Just make sure you don't run it in the red area for a long period of time because you will blow a head gasket.
- If all of the above check out fine the the cause is most likely a clogged up heater core, over time the small sediments and debris from the engine could start to build up in the small orifices of the heater core and block the flow of coolant through it. This problem generally won't make the car run hot, but when the coolant does not flow through the core then you will not get any heat into the vehicles cabin.
That's all I can think of right now, I hope this helps you out a bit
