It doesn't go in the radiator. It goes in the round clear coolant reservoir. Open hood and it should be on driver's side near windshield. It's smaller than a basketball, and bigger than a softball. White (yellowed) plastic with a round black cap.

1997 Volkswagen Jetta. The sunroof wont close. What to do??

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

No, disconnecting the battery will cause even more problems like the vehicle not starting and running rough for a week.

Just close the sunroof manually and then check the fuses and relays.

I have a 97 jetta when I put the heat on. You could smell the fumes. What can it be.

check the coolant and see if it is low then on the passenger floor board pull the carpet back about where you feet would rest.. and see if the carpet padding is wet. and smells of a odor. then if it is wet you have a heater core leak.and in some case when you turn the heater on the windows will get fogged up

1997 volk jetta where do i add water

To add Antifreeze into the coolant system, you add the fluid into the overflow resevoir. The radiator on VW's does not have a rad cap and they use the overflow. Hope this helps.

1997 jetta td, coolant is leaking, but car is not overheating

look at all your hoses and the seams on your rad, you will find the seams at each end of the rad, see thats its not liking from ether side. locate and look around your water pump the gasget maybe bad, and be sure look at your drain valve, if its plastice change it to metal if you can the plastice can wear out faster and can become brittle
