SOURCE: Flat towing 1993 Dodge Dakota 4x4

That makes sense. The oil pump for the transfer case runs from the driveshaft, and the one for the trans runs from the engine. If you put the trans in neutral, then parts of it may be turning without lubrication.

Other things to watch on those trucks:
The electrical power goes through a splice near the battery and gets corroded.
Transmission lines tend to rust out near the tranny in salt country.

SOURCE: 2000 Dodge Durango will not shift out of 2nd gear

It seems to be stuck in 4x4 still. There could be damaged done to the powertrain by the towing company. Therefore they should be held accountable for the damage and repair that will be needed. You never tow a vehicle in 4x4 it should be carried on a flat-back. Same with AWD vehicles. The towing companies are well aware of this, is their business to know. Make sure to disengage the 4x4, put the 4x4 shifter on the floor in neutral while in park or not moving. If you continue to have problems contact the towing company and hold them accountable for it. See what you can work out with them. If they tell you they are not responsible then contact a lawyer and make them responsible for it.

You would need to purchase a 3-2 converter to wire a towing harness on there. The Vitara Function-Colors are as follows. a55c313.jpg

Manually resetting the factory alarm on a 2001suzuki grand vitara

I can't reset these. Dealer. But I would have the system scanned first. Make sure there isn't a problem. If the security light isn't constantly on, you may have a bad starter. Check fuses first.

How do I change the front driver side light bulb in a 03 Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.6?

Danielle, On the driver side you may have stuff in the way, which may have to be removed, to change bulb. Sometimes it is easier to remove headlight then change bulb and reassemble. Videos attached make it look fairly easy to change he bulb with out removal of headlight.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck.

Can i tow a suzuki vitara xl7 behind an rv?

Your truck can be flat towed. By placing your transfer case in neutral you completely sever the link between the engine/ transmission and the driveshafts to the axles. The transmission could be left in gear (manual) or in the case of an automatic, park and it wouldn't make a difference. Please be advised to place the transfer case into 2wd or 4wd BEFORE unhooking towed vehicle as the vehicle will start to roll if on an incline. I would apply the emergency brake as well but I wouldn't use it as a first thing to do just in case it's out of adjustment and won't hold vehicle in transfer case neutral.

As far as things still moving would be the following, rear axle and driveshaft and front axle and half shafts. Before towing if towing for long distances maybe have the trucks bearings, U joints and seals checked.

Be safe!

My Grand Vitara can be switched between 2H, 4H, 4L & N. I just don't know what does the "N" mean? And what is the difference between this "N" and the "N of the gearbox?

N on the gearbox/transmission is Neutral for the transmission. Nuetral meaning that the power is not going anywhere so you are not going to move anywhere. The N next to the 2high, 4high, 4low is for the transfer case in nuetral. The transmission sends power through the transfer case and the transfer case sends the power to the rear wheels or front and rear wheels depending if it is in 2hi, 4hi or 4lo. The N setting for the transfer case is used when towing the vehicle with all wheels on the ground, like people do behind a big RV/motor home.

I want to know if a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4 with an automatic with a transfer case can be towed on a tow dolly without causing damage to trans, rear etc. since 2 wheels will be off the ground and 2 on...

This is when you put the shifter to NUETRAL, both shifter. The propeller may turn from where the 2 wheels on ground but it turns freely since the gears inside the transmission is disengaged.
