I went to start my car, turned the key and let it go before it started, the engine did turn over. I then reset the key and tried again and nothing happened. All the power in the car is fine, lights, windows ect. I checked the fuses they are fine as well. I unhooked the battery for half an hour and then trie again. Nothing. no clicking. The battery is not dead. Any thoughts?
U must find out why the starter is not cranking to start the engine. Have you checked battery terminals for cleanliness and lack of corrosion? Starter terminal wire good and solid? Solenoid any good? Connections? Relay issue?
Try getting a schematic so you can trace it out and find source of anomaly.
SOURCE: car will not turn over
There are several possible causes, but I would suspect a bad starter or a loose connection in the starter wiring; check the wires to the starter to make sure they are secure - There is a primary power cable (thick) direct from the battery +(Pos) connection post to the starter, which powers the starter motor, and a smaller wire from the ignition switch which actually controls the starter. With an inexpensive 12v test light, ground the clip wire to metal undercar and put the probe end on the post on the starter for the small wire while having someone turn the starter switch. If the test light lights when the key is in "start" position, you probably have a bad starter. If not, it could be a bad ignition switch or safety interlock switch (Automatic Trans have a "neutral safety switch" which insures the car is not in drive gear when starting located either by the shifter or on/inside the tranny; Manual Trans models have a switch on the clutch which blocks the starter if the clutch pedal is not depressed.) These can be temporarily bypassed with a jumper wire in order to troubleshoot the problem, but they are sometimes hard to locate and access (which is why mechanics make the big bucks!)
Hope this helps and good luck with the problem!

This problem is caused by burnt/worn contacts in the starter solenoid, it is a common issue on all Japanese designed gear reduction starters, they (the contacts) can be replaced, go to http://www.iowamotorparts.com/index.htm they have the parts, about $15, u will need a good set of auto skills to do this repair.

could possibly be a flat battery possible could be the starter motor also when you unlock the car with the key the immobilizer should of disarm
SOURCE: Mazda Tribute Intermittent Starting problem
I can think of 2 possibles,it could be a bad battery cable or an intermitent short in the starter solenoid, check or have the battery cables and there connections on both ends first not only are they a cheaper fix but the problem you describe sounds like a current flow issue.Test them with or have them tested with an ohmmeter they should show o ohms resistance, and while not attributed to the problem I do not reccomend using Bosch spark plugs of any variety, the best plugs for any Japanese vehicle are NGK's,this comes from my personal experience with them and other techs that I have worked with.

i think you burned the computer, the key is not supposed to be in the ignition when jumpstarting
