Points to fuel temperature & pressure sensor or sensors. Simple to check, just disconnect and read ohms. May just be a loose connector or wire. Not a very expensive part to have to replace.
Most mitsubishis incorporate the ambient temp sensor circuit sensor in the tanks sending unit. You may want to reset the computer by unplugging your battery for a few minutes and reconnecting it to clear the code if you don't own a scan tool. Beware this method of computer clearing as some Japanese cars have a security feature built into the radios if you lose power to the car. Make sure you have the radio code handy if you use this method. Hopefully, the code will stay cleared and you will not need to drop the tank to replace the fuel level sending unit where the temp sensor is usually located. Check to make sure the unit has a good ground first before replacing. Good luck, I hope this helps
