2007 Nissan Xterra Offroad Cltch replacment

I have an 07 xterra Offroad and the clutch "wore out" at 63,000 km! I was told it was wear and tear.....but i didn't believe them. 80% of that is high milage. The clutch was stiff when i bought it , but i was told it would wear in. It remained stiff until it went altogether. I had it replaced at my expence $2800.00. Once it was replaced it was really smooth, no stiffness, and it eginishiated about 1-2 inches from the floor (before it would engage after being compressed for only an inch or so). 2 months later (7000km) the clutch is now stiff again, and you can really feel the compression it takes to get it to engage. It engages, like before when it went, after being compressed about an inch, and its a stiff compress again. Is it going again???!!!???

That's not a misprint!! Actually it was $2750.00 at Fish Creek Nissan in Calgary! They told me it is not covered under the warrenty. It was do to "wear & tear" on the vechicle. I was not pleased to say the least. thanks for the comments.

$2800?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!! HOPE THAT IS A MISPRINT
if it is feeling different then something is not right. the amount of travel should not change
you may have a slave cylinder problem or your clutch release fork has popped off the pivot ball

I need to replace clutch fluid in 2004 Xterra, the clutch sticks at the back of engagement. Thanks

Ben,

I doubt that changing the fluid will fix this issue...It sounds like the throwout bearing is hanging up on something either due to wear or lack of lubrication (grease), Has it ever been serviced to your knowledge?

2003 nissan xterra v-6 does it have a timing chain or belt and if it has a belt when does it need to be changed?

It has a timing belt, not a chain. Easy enough to check your owners manual. From memory, belt is to be replaced at about 100,000 miles or 160,000 km give or take.

My 07 xterra is stuck in 4x4 low.it wont come out

It is most likely because you are on a hill or something. Have someone rock the vehicle back and forth just a bit, front to back, while you throw in the clutch and try to shift it out. The engine does not have to be on, and is better off in this case. This is an extremely non-synchro gear, so never go into or out of low while moving at all.

I just replaced our 2007 Xterra battery...it wants to turn over, but won't. Help?

Your starter is bad. you may have to replace it. if the motor "wants" to turn over the starter is recieving power. but it is probably bad.
