My Daughters 05 sportage lost all blower motor operation. Motor was good, relay was good and resister was good on hi speed anyway. still no fan. Had 12 V going to fan and saw 1.3 volts on ground at motor. Hummm Saw an article that mentioned the KIA was known to have the blower speed control knob/switch burn
wires in the back when the resister went bad. Low and be hold when I but a known good ground to it blower came to life. Trying to figure how to get to said control knob. In the meanwhile I'll remove motor ground wire from connector (using removal tool not cutting) and make a new temp ground using wire that can
handle 25 Amps. Good luck.
This is usually due to 1 of 3 possible problems.
Its
faulty blower motor resistor. The low and medium speed on blower motor is
controlled by resistor and its actual speed is high. So because resistor is not
working, blower motors actual speed which is high is working.
It
can be faulty blower motor or faulty blower motor resistor. Get the blower
motor inspected. If it's faulty it has to be replaced.
