A 1997 Ford Contour is bigger than a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire. A Contour is a mid-size car; a Sunfire is a compact car.

One coil serves those two cylinders (no. 1 and 4), so try repllacing that coil.

The throttle position sensor is mounted on the side of the throttle body.

The timing "set" that includes the chain, both sprockets and the tensenior assembly is about $60.00 at AutoZone. the labor to change it all would depend on where you live and where you take it for the work. this repair is one that can be done at any reputable repair facility and it doesn't have to go to the dealer. When I did this for a customer it took me about 2-3 hours total time.

go to the auto part and buy the repair manual for yuor car it will be helpfull.

Turn the key on, Leave the key on for 10 minutes until the theft light goes out. Turn the key off. Then it should start the next time you turn the key.

the pump turns off the timing chain its a major job wouldnt recomend trying at home
