Question about 2004 Infiniti I35

1 Answer

Camshaft position sensors 2002 i35 infiniti. sorry this may be a duplicate, but my 'check engine' light is on and the error codes are p0011 and P0021 which are bank one and two cam positio sensors. i guess i'll replace both even though only one is actually bad. i need to know where they're located and if this is something i should do myself or take to a mechanic. they want $350 for the entire job. i can get the sensors for 40 or so each depending on brand name and source. just need some advice and maybe a picture or diagram. My gas mileage has gone to ****. someone please help. I know there's someone out there who has the answer. thanks alot and God Bless. Bud COllier [email protected]

SOURCE: How to program 2002 i35 infiniti keyless remote?

The procedure goes like this. First get in the car and lock all the doors. Secondly insert and remove the key repeatedly until the turn signal indicators on the dash flash twice simultaneously, it should be like seven or eight times. Then turn the key on and press the lock button on the remote and the lights should flash again. After that turn the key off and manually unlock and open the drivers door, then shut it. Wait a few seconds then try the remote.

I have replaced both camshaft sensor's, spark plugs, and battery in my infiniti i35 2002. It hesitates to start tcs slip and check engine lights are on.

Have you read the code(s) associated with the Check Engine light? If so, what are they? Need more information, please.

Volkswagen passat wagon 2004 codes p0300 p0302 p0304 p0011 runs fine

You have random misfire codes as well as misfires detected on cylinders #2 and #4. P0011 is likely the root cause of the misfire being detected
P0011 VOLKSWAGEN - 'A' Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced Or System Performance problems.

Possible causes- Dirty engine oil
- Low engine oil level
- Camshaft actuator circuit open or shorted
- Camshaft actuator circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty camshaft actuator

There may be a factory bulletin on this code, check with the VW dealer on that. Possible defective Camshaft actuator.

03 Maxima SE... Check engine light is on and getting codes P0011 AND P0021 which is the intake camshaft position timing over. I also have P0462 because my fuel level sensor always reads as full and while...

Hi there Camilo:
DTC P0011 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)
A code P0011 refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) or VCT (variable camshaft timing) components and the car's PCM (powertrain control module, also called an ECM). That consists of a few different components but the P0011 DTC specifically refers to the camshaft (cam) timing. In this case, if the cam timing is above a set limit (over-advanced), the engine light will be illluminated and the code will be set. The "A" camshaft is either the intake, left, or front camshaft.
Potential Symptoms

Most likely a DTC P0011 will result in one of the following: hard starting, poor idle, and/or stalling. There are potentially other symptoms as well. Of course, when trouble codes are set, the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp, a.k.a. the check engine light) illuminates.

A DTC P0011 trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Incorrect camshaft timing
- Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system
- Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber
- Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)

Possible Solutions:
This DTC code is a result of a mechanical fault of the VCT unit or related components, so there is no need for electrical diagnosis. Refer to vehicle specific repair manual to perform component tests for the VCT unit. Notes: Dealer techs have advanced tools and the ability to follow detailed troubleshooting steps, including the ability to test components using a scan tool.

Other related DTCs: P0010 - P0011 - P0012 - P0020 - P0021 - P0022

DTC P0462 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Low
This could happen happen you ran your fuel tank too low I would first fill up the tank and go to your local parts store and have them reset the code to see if it stays off .If the light comes back on the most likely reason is because the fuel level sensor needs to be replaced but other possible causes are wiring problems, fuel pump module, or cluster. You will need to barrow a special tool which is the lock wring wrench from your local parts store to remoe the fuel pump. Here are instructions from Nissan TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) to solve it; let me know if you have questions.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

I have a P0011 "Camshaft Position/Bank 1 code.

OK check the CMP sensor connector for cleanliness, sometimes oil can get in and disrupt the signal transmission to the ECU. Check the wire loom continuity all the way back from the CMP to the ECU. If the error code persists remove the cam sensor, clean its tip of any debris and refit.

Check engine lights is p0011 how do I fix this problem

I looked up the code you posted, and came back as the camshaft position sensor, which is behind the timing belt cover, if it is the right model.
