I have a problem for collecting data of 2J piston specifications, such as
1.gasket bore(MM)
2.deck clearance(MM)
3.head volume(CC)
4.piston chamber volume(CC)
5.piston OD above rings(mm)
6.piston OD length (MM)
If i get this data,I can change to Compressed Natural Venhic:New compression ratio and Piston Chamber Volume.
SOURCE: cylinder head skim
From my understanding, the combustion area of the head should have a diameter that is the same as the cylinder i.e. 56mm. If you took 0.5mm from a standard head, your squish would PROBABLY be Ok, however, you need to measure this. Its quite easy, poke a piece of solder wire in to the cylinder via the spark plug hole and trap it between the piston and the head by gently turning the engine over with the kickstarter by hand. Remove the squashed solder wire and measure with a set of vernier calipers. 0.8mm is about right and as Elf said, anything below this is getting a bit close. Do this for the front, back and left and right of each cylinder. Reducing the squish only has only a moderate effect on the compression ratio and does not require higher octane fule. I did this for mine and it was fine - so you 'should' be Ok.

Go here and find a nice substitute. Many to choose from and it may be better to purchase a pair of them rather than have mis-matched ones. They should be inexpensive enough for you, as low as $2 up to $480. You just need the size of the mounting hole to find a replacement though.

it is down to cost how old is it , is it worth it over the cost of a new heater you will neede to speak with a plumber to see what is best to do with this heater as they can look at the heater and advice you .
SOURCE: how to measure tappet clearance with dial gauge
When setting tappets, it has to be born inind that the valve stem wears an indentation into the face of the rocker. This prevents a really accurate tappet adjustment, so the customer is right again. If you do not posess a tappet setting dial gauge, a normal engineers dial gauge will do just as well. The procedure is the same as using your feeler gauge except that you set the dial gauge up on the cylinder head with the pointer resting on the head of the rocker. Press down fairly firmly on the rocker valve end and zero the gauge. Next lift up on the rocker and read off the clearance, from the gauge, Use a magnetic base to support your gauge and repeat the pocedure for each valve pair.
