Pretty sure your car has struts on the rear and the shock function is part of the strut. Replacing struts is more difficult than replacing shocks and they should be replaced in pairs.
I have not owned a buick for years. However, the one I did have trouble with the power antenna motor was located directly under the antenna. It was in the rear fender housing. I have to remove the trunk lining on the side of the fender. It was mounted a bracket. It was easy to replace as it all comes as a complete assembly. Hope that helped
You'll need to remove the 2 bolts that go thru the top of the shock and body. Then unbolt the lower shock thru bolt and remove. You might want to use some WD-40 to help loosen the rust on the bolts.
trywww.autozone.com to see if they have your car listed for diagrams pictures and step by step instructions if your car is not listed then try your local library they have all the car manuals and even copy them for you or you can try www.schramauto.com or call them at 1-800-292-1032
you buddy it telling you is true but if you are replacing the shocks with new what i would do is take off the rear tires put both side on jake stands and put something under the front wheel so it does not roll and take a hack saw or a air cut off tool or a sawzaw but then all you have to to do it remove the panel in the truck and then install the new ones.
